What the work looks like

Outdoors and indoors. Purposeful. On your terms.

  • Private outdoor and indoor sites

Farmers markets, country shows, garden centres and shopping centres. Never a doorstep.

  • Causes worth talking about

We work with respected UK charities, conservation, hospice, health and community causes, whose work you can represent with genuine conviction.

  • Daytime hours, your call

Most contractors choose to work daytime hours, around 10am to 4pm, but this varies by venue and is entirely their decision. No evenings, no early starts unless you want them.

  • Opportunities available near you

We make site opportunities available across the country. Contractors choose which are convenient for them, typically within a comfortable drive of where they're based.

The pay

We've always believed that a fundraiser's income should reflect their importance to what we do. We offer unrivalled and uncapped pay.

If you'd like to understand what that looks like in practice before you make any decision, get in touch and we'll have that conversation honestly and openly.

Come and see before you decide

We invite every prospective contractor to spend a day with one of our current fundraisers. See it for real before you commit to anything.

"This was a revelation to me. I am at a point in life when I don't want a traditional 9 to 5, I want flexibility and a way to supplement my income. This is perfect, I am my own boss, self-employed but supported by an amazing team. I get to talk to people about something local and something I genuinely feel passionate about. It's amazing to have such positive interactions."

Helm Fundraiser

Who we work with

What makes someone want to be a fundraiser?

The fundraisers who represent Helm Campaigns are positive, passionate and experienced. We've always believed the best conversations happen when the person having them brings real life to the table.

Experienced professionals

15+ years in any people-facing career — teaching, management, sales, healthcare, retail, hospitality. The background matters less than the people skill.

Semi-retired or winding down

Looking to stay active and earn without the full-time grind. Two or three days a week outdoors, doing something that matters.

Career changers

Tired of the office, tired of the commute. Want flexibility, fresh air, and the satisfaction of raising real money for real causes.

Return to work

Coming back after a career break and looking for something that fits around your life rather than demanding all of it.

Self-motivated and independent

You don't need someone telling you what to do. You set your own pace, manage your own day, and take pride in doing it well.

Genuine people person

You end up in conversation with strangers wherever you go. You find it natural, not draining. That's the single most important thing.

The model

Simple, transparent, fair

We keep it straightforward. You bring the skill and the people ability. We bring the sites, the charity partnerships and the support. What you earn reflects the quality of the work you do.

01

You let us know when you're free

Contractors choose which periods suit them and let us know when they'd like to take on opportunities. There's no obligation to commit to anything, it's always their call.

02

We make site opportunities available

We make farmers markets, country shows and garden centres available across your area. You tell us which interest you. You confirm or decline. The choice is yours, every time.

03

You do what you do best

Attend a site, set up your display, have genuine conversations with people who already care about the cause. Sign up supporters at an amount that works for them, at a pace that works for you.

04

Fortnightly payments

We provide a statement of fundraising activity for each contractor to review and approve. Payment is made fortnightly, directly to your nominated account. Clear, predictable, no chasing.

Could this be for you?

If you want to make a difference whilst earning well, representing causes you believe in, this could be for you. Contact us any time, we'd love a chat.

The contractors who represent Helm Campaigns are self-employed and choose to work the days and hours that suit them. Some do it several days a week, others just a handful of days each month.

We've always believed that a fundraiser's income should reflect their importance to what we do. We offer uncapped pay, and what you earn reflects the quality and consistency of your work, with no ceiling on what's achievable.

You'll want to have a full UK driving licence and your own vehicle, and you'll be operating on a self-employed basis, responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. You're free to work with other organisations at any time alongside your work with Helm.

All contractors who represent Helm Campaigns are self-employed. This is not an employment opportunity. Contractors are responsible for their own tax, National Insurance and statutory obligations.
